Tigers are usually credited with the title of “the biggest cats in the world”. They are appreciated on the International Tiger Day, which is celebrated on every 29th of July. This beautiful and powerful creature is well-known for its distinctive orange and black stripes and beautifully marked face. International Tiger Day History

After the discovery that 97% of the wild tigers have been vanished in recent century, the very first tiger day was initiated and celebrated in 2010. Afterwards, various organizations including WWF, the IFAW, and the Smithsonian Institute started to observe this special day every year. The only purpose was to protect tigers and expand their habitats.

Tiger day is an event which is celebrated across the whole world to raise awareness about the conservation of tigers. This day promotes the message to protect tigers as well as their natural habitats. International tiger day mainly focus on the threats that are faced by the tigers, such as poaching, illegal trade industry, and demand for tiger bone, skin, and other body parts.

In order to recover the population of tigers (especially Bengal tigers), India launched a project called “Tiger Project”.

With the aim to double the number of the wild tigers by 2022, 13 countries assured to maintain the TX2 initiative.

You can do it through several ways such as sharing videos, info-graphics, or links to suitable content to get more people involved in the cause.

Donate for Tigers

Although adoption of tiger is very tough job so instead of adoption, you can simply fund those organizations which work for the protection and welfare of tigers. Not only this, but such organizations also take strict actions against poaching and illegal trading.

Plant Trees

As the most serious challenge faced by the tigers is loss of habitat. You can plant more tress to save the natural habitat of tigers. This action will prove helpful for both tigers and nature. How about unfolding the difference between a lion and a tiger.

Celebrate Tigers at Home

Organize a party at your home and invite all your friends and family. Advice all to wear only orange and black stripped dresses (tiger-inspired dressing). You can add a small speech to this event to let people know about tigers and their life.

Domestication and Care

Domestication and care of tigers is very complex procedure which is completely impractical. Providing them the necessary needs, diet and habitat is also very tough task. Conservationists don’t suggest to domesticate tigers at all, instead they suggest to protect them in wild.
